Dive team assists at local fundraisers

The dive team had a busy weekend assisting with two public service details to raise money for a good cause.  Multiple times throughout the winter season the dive team is contacted to assist with “Polar Plunge” fundraisers. These fundraisers consist of some brave participants running, jumping, or sliding into the frigid and sometimes ice covered waters all to raise money for a specific cause.  This weekend the team traveled to Deer Lake on Saturday for their “Polar Plunge”, and Lake Wynonah on Sunday for their “Leap in the lake”.  Proceeds from both events went towards the Make A Wish Foundation.  The completion of these two events marked the third and fourth plunges for the year with one more still to go.  The Schuylkill Haven Rescue and Recovery Dive Team is honored to be able to assist with these events that raise money for such a great cause and look forward to them every year.  For more information on how you can help the Make a Wish Foundation visit www.wish.org
